The First Day

Deciding to begin a fitness program is a big step, but the second step getting out the door and into the studio can be just as challenging.

Here is some information that will hopefully ease you into the first class, and prevent some of the First day jitters.

What Should I Wear?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Some people prefer t-shirts and sweatpants. Others prefer workout tanks and yoga pants.

Flexibility and mobility are the most important aspects of your wardrobe.

What Should I Bring?

We provide everything but towels, should you prefer to use one. All mats and props are provided for you. If you would like to use your own mat, you are welcome to bring one from home.

What If Everyone Else Is Better Than Me?

This isn't a competition. No two students have the same level of experience, and even the most experienced students have good and bad days.

The most important thing is to listen to your body, and watch your own progression with each class that you take.

I'm Not Very Flexible

No one is without practice, but with a little effort, you will see real improvement in your strength, flexibility, posture and attitude.

Does it Hurt?

No, and it shouldn't! If you are ever in pain, release the pose and rest. While all exercise requires you to exert yourself, it should never cause pain.

If anything is uncomfortable, speak up! Your instructor will show you a modification to better suit your personal needs.

Can Men Attend?

Absolutely! All of our classes (with the obvious exception of prenatal yoga) are good for all ages, shapes, sizes and genders.
